Nampa, ID — Nampa Christian Housing (NCH) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a conditional commitment of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and other funding administered by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association. This critical funding will enable NCH to move forward with the construction of a much-needed senior housing community, providing a minimum of 40 affordable housing units to be located at 508 E Hawaii Ave in Nampa, Idaho and to be named Walt's Place Apartments.
“We are thankful for NCH’s decision to purchase our parents’ property for this development. This initiative not only honors our parents’ legacy but also contributes significantly to the community.” Marla Dean.
Walt and Vivian Wrzesinski had deep ties to the community, and this development will help honor their memory.
This milestone is a testament to NCH’s unwavering commitment to addressing the desperate need for affordable housing for seniors in the Nampa community. The new development will offer safe, high-quality housing options for low-income seniors, helping to alleviate the housing shortage and provide much-needed support for this vulnerable population.
"The Treasure Valley is experiencing a housing crisis and we are so grateful for partners who are willing to help bridge the gap and make sure that our most vulnerable households are taken care of, as well! We are very excited to partner with Nampa Christian Housing in making affordable housing accessible for seniors with limited income!" Stephanie Day
Nampa Christian Housing extends its heartfelt gratitude to its partners and consultants for their expertise and dedication in securing this funding. Special thanks go to the Idaho Housing and Finance Association, Graystoke Social Impact, Development Consulting Services, and additional community service partners including CATCH and Terry Reilly Health Services for their invaluable assistance throughout this process. NCH is also proud to collaborate with RRC Contractors, The Land Architect, and Paradigm of Idaho, who will bring this vision to life.

From NCH Board President Marshawn Narum’s perspective, “The work we are about to embark on to bring this development to fruition will drastically improve the social determinants for forty low-income senior households by granting access to food, shelter, education, health care, and job training opportunities.
The NCH Board of Directors has been instrumental in guiding this initiative, and we want to particularly recognize Marshawn Narum for her exceptional leadership. Marshawn’s vision and dedication were crucial as NCH transitioned from the sale of the Golden Glow Towers, enabling the organization to reinvest in creating more affordable housing options for the community.
“There is an urgent need for affordable senior housing in our community, and we are passionate about providing solutions to help meet this demand,” says Narum.
“This project reflects our mission to serve those in need and ensure that seniors in Nampa have access to safe, affordable homes where they can thrive.”
Nampa Christian Housing is deeply committed to serving the community and addressing the growing challenges in the housing market. This project represents a significant step forward in ensuring that all seniors, regardless of income, have access to quality housing options.
“Our hope is that this public-private partnership will be the first of many,” noted Narum. “We know that we have our work cut out for us, but are excited to move this first one forward.”
