Walt’s Place has land, initial funding, and a broad scope of work. We’re currently working with an architect to develop site plans, floor plans, and number of units in the community.
Nampa Christian Housing Inc is currently seeking government grants as well as individual donors to help bring this project to life.
We are looking for opportunities to invite more donors to get an incredible community push behind this senior housing development.
This is an opportunity to partner with local companies (your company) or individuals to realize positive public relations and attention for their partnership in this effort. It will be seen as support for Idaho and celebrated for keeping longstanding community members in state and in comfortable housing. Corporate sponsors who help us make this offer possible with financial support will get plenty of recognition.

Walt never knew a stranger—he had a story for every occasion and an occasion for every story. He could talk your ear off and took every opportunity to do so. Whether family, friend, or next person in line at Albertson’s, Walt was caring, attentive, and full of life which he selflessly shared with others. Though sometimes abrasive with a cowboy spirit, Walt’s roughness was complemented by Vivian’s (his wife) softness and compassion. The two made a home of a small plot of land in Nampa, Idaho in 1965, where they raised 4 children and more great-grandchildren.
Walt served as an instructor at the Marsing Job Corps Center. He later worked for several years as a truck driver for Idaho Sand and Gravel before retiring to his homestead farm raising cattle and helping with backyard crops. Vivian was a long-time member of Nampa’s First Christian Church and sang for many years in the choir. She used their household grapes to make juice and jelly every year, affectionately referred to by her family as “Grandma’s Jelly”.
Both Walt and Vivian were dedicated to their family, attending every concert, church program, and sporting event that their children and later grandchildren were involved in.
When their homestead fell empty upon their passing in 2020 & 2023 respectively, numerous community members, churchgoers, and neighbors continuously asked, “What’s happening with Walt’s Place?”. As friends of Walt and Vivian, we’re proud to say that the homestead they worked so hard to build and cultivate for their family will become a refuge as an affordable living option for senior citizens. By developing Walt’s Place, Nampa Christian Housing hopes to honor the legacy of care, community, and stewardship of Walt and Vivian Wrzesinski and continue to make Nampa a welcoming home for all.
