Golden Glow Tower

Nampa Christian Housing, Inc. had operated the Golden Glow Tower in Nampa, Idaho as a housing community for low-income seniors starting 1969. Golden Glow Tower opened in 1969 with 64 rooms, including a live-in manager unit, a common area, and laundry facility.  At eight stories tall, it was the first, and so far, only, official high-rise building in the city. Nampa Christian Housing (NCH) continued to own and operate the building for over 50 years, always striving to keep rent affordable and keep the elderly population off the streets and out of homeless shelters. In October 2023, NCH sold the original building to LEAP Housing.

In October 2023, NCH sold the original building to LEAP Housing  (leaphousing.org). LEAP housing has committed to renovating the property while leaving it as an affordable elderly housing for at least 20 years. This will give the current residents a nicer place to live while ensuring that the building remains affordable to them through their lives.

Architect’s sketch shows exterior appearance of a 12-story apartment building expected to rise in Nampa next summer. Plans for the building were announced today by the Rev. J. Sydney Cranes of the Nampa First Christian Church, sponsors. The apartment facility, designed for senior citizens, is to be situated adjacent to the church at Seventh Street and 11th Avenue South.
